During the past year I have had a blast recording podcasts with writers, directors and a ton of other people associated with basketball. Some of my highlights of recording the HoopsAddict Podcasts so far include:
- Being able to talk with former NBA player Bay Forrest about his time in the NBA
- The interview I had with Joe Newman about what it’s like to be the CEO of the ABA
- An interview I had with Matt de la Pena about his book Ball Don’t Lie and how production on the movie based on his book is progressing
- I chatted with Yahoo! Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski about his book The Miracle of St. Anthony
- I was able to chat with Rus Bradburd about his book Paddy on the Hardwood and about his experiences coaching basketball in Ireland
- I had the opportunity to chat with Carlo Ricalti (the coach of the Italian national team) about Andrea Bargnani and some of his experiences as the coach of the Italian national team
- I talked with Phil Martelli about being named Coach of the Year in 2003, his program being the top ranked program that season and what it’s like to have former players like Jameer Nelson and Delonte West playing in the NBA
- Early in the 2006-07 NCAA season when the Wichita State Shockers were nationally ranked I was able to secure an interview with Mark Turgeon to talk about his team’s hot start
- I talked with Marcus Davenport about his basketball documentary Flint Star and then later that month I had the chance to chat with Emmanuel White about his hoops documentary With This Rock. I have the Flint basketball scene locked down!
- I was able to chat with Andrew Blauner about his book “Coach: 25 Writers Reflect On People Who Made A Difference” and how he selected the 25 stories he used in this book. He also provided some further insight into some of the stories he included in this book
- I talked with Bill Woten about his book “Game 7: Inside The NBA’s Ultimate Showdown”
