Kevin Love is less than one month into his NBA career and his pedestrian averages of 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds have resulted in some fans spraining their ankles while jumping off his bandwagon. Prior to yesterday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets in Barcelona, Spain, there was plenty for the Washington Wizards to feel good about.  Forward Antawn Jamison’s injured knee had healed much quicker than expected and he was inserted into the starting lineup.  Juan Dixon, who had missed all of preseason with an injured calf, was also scheduled to see his first action of the preseason. Unfortunately neither player could help prevent the Wizards from losing their third game in a row.

When the pieces of the “character” puzzle came together, the Trail Blazers did not have to try hard to win back their alienated fans. As they had promised, they traded away talented but controversial or unpleasant players. Now Portland is incredibly young and unbelievable talented, with all the tools for success already on their roster.

Championship or Bust for North Carolina

North Carolina’s Men’s basketball team had a remarkable year last season. The team ultimately did not achieve its goal of a national title, but its success laid the foundation for massive expectations for the season ahead for the Tar Heels. Unlike last year, this season is not one filled with potential and possibility, but instead firm, lofty expectations and demands. This season, absolutely nothing short of a national title will satisfy the fans, players and coaching staff in Chapel Hill.
